IMPOSTER SYNDROME
Based out of Southwest Michigan, Imposter Syndrome is an alternative rock band combining elements of midwest emo, punk, alternative, and indie to produce a vibrant sound entwined with nostalgia all people can relate to.
Imposter Syndrome was originally formed from a school project at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Classmates Robby Hutchins (drums), Joshua Kraly (guitar/keys/vocals), and Will McManus (guitar/bass/vocals) first met in Josh’s bedroom to record the debut singles in early 2024 and hit the ground running. With the goal of creating an innovative sound coded with nostalgia, Imposter Syndrome has released tracks across genres such as punk, bedroom pop, alternative rock, folk, and indie. Over the next year, the group played many shows in Kalamazoo bars, basements, and theaters, adding Dan Hubble (bass) to the lineup.
After releasing five singles, the band began working on their first LP, Everything I Am, Everything I Should Be. The album was composed and produced throughout 2024 and 2025, releasing on April 11, 2025. The album portrays a thoughtful narrative surrounding coming-of-age, highlighting challenges such as self-worth, mental well-being, and relationships.
Following the release of their debut album, Will, Dan, and Robby stepped back from the band to pursue other musical endeavors. Now a solo project, Imposter Syndrome is continuing to produce their signature crossgenre alternative music with a sophomore album on the horizon in 2026.
